Tooth Brushing

Toothbrushing will clean any plaque build up from your teeth. You should brush your teeth twice daily, morning and evening.

How should I brush my teeth?

  1. Hold the bristles of your toothbrush against your teeth and turn your brush 45۫ towards your gumline. Brush in a side to side motion covering 2-3 teeth with each stroke allowing the bristles to clean in between the teeth as well. Move the brush in small circular motions several times on all the surfaces of the tooth.
  2. Brush the outer surfaces of each tooth, upper and lower, keeping the bristles angled against the gum line.
  3. Repeat the above for the inside surfaces for all your teeth.
  4. Brush the biting surfaces of your teeth.
  5. Tilt the brush vertically to clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth. You will need to make several small circular strokes with the front part of the brush.
  6. Repeat for the lower teeth as well.
  7. Only use a moderate amount of pressure when brushing as otherwise you will damage your gums and wear away your teeth.
  8. Brush your tongue to remove bacteria and debris.
  9. Gently massage over your gums with your tooth brush.
